Request a map fix

Send us a broken map, say what you want done, and the community votes on Discord. Every week the top request gets saved.

This week's pickEvery Friday at 18:00 UTC the five requests with the most votes go to a 24-hour poll in #weekly-pick; the winner is announced on Sunday at 16:00 UTC.

Make a post in the #map-requests forum: the map's name and version, a link to its page, what is wrong and your patch. Pick a problem, patch and author tag. Members vote with ⬆️, one vote per Discord account.

How it works

  1. Send the mapPost in the #map-requests forum and link the map's page (attachments are off there). A private upload form opens here soon. One post per map; each member can start a new post every 6 hours.
  2. Say what is wrongWhat happens and when (loading screen, minute 9, picking a hero), the patch you play on, and a screenshot or the last lines of War3Log.txt if you have them.
  3. TagsEvery request carries a problem, a patch and an author tag. Status tags are set by moderators.
  4. VoteVoting happens on Discord: react with ⬆️ on requests you want saved. One vote per Discord account; votes on your own post do not count.
  5. Weekly pickEvery Friday at 18:00 UTC the five requests with the most votes go to a 24-hour poll in #weekly-pick. The winner is announced on Sunday at 16:00 UTC and saved that week. Runners-up keep their votes.
  6. DeliveryResults are posted in #fixed-maps, a gallery channel: the before and after report, and the fixed file when the author allows it. For help with a crash in the meantime, ask in #crash-help.

Forum tags

Ties in the poll go to author consent first, then to maps the scan says are fixable, then to the oldest request.

Who gets the fixed file

  • The author asked, or the author said OK: we post the fixed map and credit both the requester and the author.
  • Author unknown: we publish the report and a way to fix your own copy, never someone else's map file.
  • Protected maps: play-side fixes only, when the map can be read without unlocking it. Otherwise the request is closed as "Declined: protected".

Requests we close

Anything asking to unprotect a map, add cheats, remove anti-cheat, strip credits or make a map less protected is closed with "Declined: policy" and a one-line reason. The full list is in the policy.
